New Life

Thu Aug 27, 2009, 8:49 AM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Reading: Foundations Edge
Well, I promise I have some new stuff. However, I'm still settling in my new apartment and new job and everything. Yeah, I'm in the same town I went to college in and I'm living with a friend from art school, and my boyfriends around. But I'm lazy, so I haven't even hooked my scanner up yet, or finished a piece to upload. But I've got some promising ones! We also haven't been able to afford getting internet yet. So for the meantime, we're stealing from a neighbor when we can and going over to Barnes and Noble. Woot.

The job keeps me really busy, but it's nice to not have papers or paintings with due-dates on them right now. I can actually come home and just relax. Hopefully I'll be in the mood to finish some pieces soon. I just want to crash when I get off work. But things are becoming more routine. Excited to post some new stuff.

Oh my gosh! Thank you for all the favorites! :D I'm really glad you like my paintings. I've been enjoying your "a Look into my Art" album on facebook. I can't wait to see the finished dragon!

No problem, they're really cool. I'd be horrible at painting if I didn't do it on a computer. Thank goodness for the undo button.

Yeah, I'm working on stuff for the Wacom Dreams contest right now so the dragon was put on hold. But hopefully I'll be returning to it at some point and can finish it. And make it super awesome.

See, I cant grasp the concept of the undo button. Painting is SO different on the computer from physical painting. I am NO good at it.
:icondarkmag07:
Indeed. But at least the computer is free (depending on what program you use). You don't have to go out and buy huge canvasses or paint or anything like that.

And the undo putto gives you a lot of freedom to mess with stuff without totally ruining the image. But in a sense maybe that is a bad thing too. It would have been nice to take a few formal painting classes before I started digitally since I think it'd really help.
